Osborn Red Angus is located outside of Athens, Alabama, in North Alabama, in the heart of the Southeast and is a continuation of what was formerly known as OOF Farm Red Angus.
Osborn Red Angus has always produced cattle that meet the requirements of the purebred breeder and the commercial cattleman. We do not chase fads or extremes and will always strive to fulfill the mission set out by the founder of our operation, Hugh Osborn– “to produce sound, functional cattle that are able to thrive in any environment and that meet and exceed the expectations of our customers and the cattle industry”. Our herd has been influenced with animals from breeders such as Leachman Cattle Company, Neo Sho Farm, Ludvigson Stock Farm, Borman Red Angus and, most recently, Andras Stock Farm.
AI breeding is used extensively in our program. Each year we select AI sires that will enhance the population of our cow herd and that will produce progeny that will be accepted in the cattle industry.
Bulls and females are primarily marketed in our annual sale the first Saturday of December every year. The sale is held at the farm outside Athens, Alabama. We do market some animals private treaty every year and we also participate in the Southeast Red Angus Association's Grasstime Sale held every spring in Cullman, Alabama.
